No full exhaust needed. OEM muffler + VF Hex tune + VRSF Downpipes + AA Midpipes
Glad I went aa Midpipes first versus buying a full exhaust. This is all I need and it's plenty loud standing behind it and someone revving it. It might actually be too loud if your standing close. Love the sound and the money saved vs buying a full system. Driving in effiecient and cruising you wouldn't even know it had any exhaust mods. It's still OEM quiet that way. Sorry for the crap videos. Just put my phone down and hit record. I will make some vids with a go pro soon

VRSF downpipes are less than 500 retail and AA mid pipes are less than 1200 retail. You can get them cheaper than that though. try mike at extreme power house or supreme power. Both A+ companies!!!

oh and the tune from VF is $1295. I know it just a tune but it does change the exhaust note some not just the burbles.

You're right about the sound. However for me the exhaust is part sound, part looks. I hate that bottom part that sticks out of the oem exhaust, reminds me of a baboons ass. Then there's also the weight savings in aftermarket set ups.
But if sound is all you need, you're set would definitely work. |

I don't understand why people are against full exhaust system it's not like your going to throw it in the garbage when sell or lease return your car .. You'll sell the system and loose $500 maximum but will have fun for couple of years .. Vs trying to find a cheaper way and loose same amount of money at the end .. But won't be as happy.. Not saying your setup sounds bad it sound very very good for what it is ..

Well that is your opinion. I, like you think the OP's setup sounds pretty good, damn good actually "for what it is" being that the S55 isn't the most lovable musical machine. But for coming in at what seems to be $2,900, I don't know what exhausts you are thinking this compares with price wise. MPE, Akra, Meisterschaft are all at or north of 5K. Sure you can recoup that with resale, but it's not like the mid pipe, or downpipes are a sunk cost either. OP can easily recoup a good chunk of that money as well. Not to mention the car now has more power with the tune, and the ZCP like OEM burbles. IMO there is not a better way to spend 3k. The closest price muffler is a magna flow, and it's not going to be anywhere near the overall performance or sound of this car. So in the end, you get a hell of a lot more "bang" for almost half the "buck." So what is there not to like? Just my .02 |

Im not against a full exhaust, Im against the stupid ridiculous $5000+ price tags. The way I see it I can have a pretty setup car with tune, mid pipes, downpipes, and a set of coilovers vs just having a exhaust that gets you basically no power and just sound. Yes valves open and close just like OEM cause its still the OEM muffler
