Premire of the 2016 BMW M3 Competition Package in Melbourne Red

BMW World / Welt Visit for European Delivery
The day started early. Sleeping off the jet lag came first, followed by strong coffee. Then a quick trip down to BMW Welt, which is across the street from the BMW Factory in Munich (and next to the site of ill-fated 1976 Olympics Park). The M-Sport Exhibition was superb, and featured a GTS (less than 500 made) along with the laser light display in the M4. Tons of new vehicles, both hybrid and classic. There is also BMW on Demand (think ZipCar for BMWs) where you can pick up anything! Next it was up to the Lounge for lunch and to do paperwork. The Germans love their paperwork. But the reward for this paperwork is a new BMW.

2016 BMW M3 Competition Package (ZCP) – Melbourne Red Metallic
Up comes the elevator. Out comes the Melbourne Red Metallic BMW M3 with the Competition Package. The odometer shows 1. Purring at idle, the BMW Welt rep (Rainer) spins it on the turn table. Lights turn on. He plugs the car into the Welt floor. Proceeds to show me the ins/outs of the M3, then realizes who he’s talking to. He takes me through only the very newest features (most of which are improvements in software, styling and minor substance like fully online search features through idrive in Europe!) Smiles abound. A bottle of champagne is placed in the trunk. He hands me the keys. I do a lap around the inside of BMW Welt for his colleagues and guests to see. Then proceed slowly to the doors. The M3 purrs like a tiger ready to be let loose. The doors open and the world is revealed to this Ultimate Driving Machine.

Congrats, looks beautiful! Must be the light, but looks a lot more like Ferrari Red than Melbourne Red

I agree. I love Melbourne Red, definitely one of my favourite red colors, but kinda looks more like Ferrari Red here (at least on some pics). It must be the sun/light.

But it nevertheless looks good though.

looks fantastic!

I have a licence plate question. I see you have a Euro plate to drive around with out there. How do they attach it? is it drilled in? What if you're in a state that does not require a front plate?

It's just on with tape. They come off fine when you get home

Yes it's red - very nice car but color doesn't look any different than a red Corolla imo

How much extra does the red contrasting stitch cost for a ZCP interior. Does it look amazing with the seat cutouts?
