Officially 1st full m4 conversion

Hello. This started life as a 420. Now a complete m4.

Are you sure they were talking about the car when they mentioned 420?

How much more did this cost than just buying an M4?

Half price
Engine and transmission came off a rear ended m3 that was totaled.

To everyone about to say just get an M4, look at OP's location. Generally in the US the M4 is about 20k more than a base 4 series.

In other countries it can be 100's of thousands more, so projects like this make much more sense financially if they have faith in a competent shop to do the conversion. We have some of the best prices on cars in the world, and we take it for granted.

Great job on the conversion!

True, plus the cost of labor is significantly lower in other parts of the world.

Not to mention that used parts procurement supply chain can be significantly more ... creative.
For example, wheels could have come from here:

Looks like a solid conversion!

Did you take the suspension as well?

What exactly was changed and what was left alone?

Not easy to do but i would love to have my wife drive a "m3 wagon awd." Imagine the 0-60 ;-p

Perfect explanation there. An m4 with the specs of the converted car will run in about 160000$ here.

Every single part is a genuine m4/m3. Even has the side cameras and carbon ceramic brakes.
Car even has 590hp and dyno tested. Running a custom map.

The only thing left alone was the chassis. Which starts with a WBA... Instead of a WBS...

OP - Cool conversion. Awesome you were able to find the front end of an M4 like that - with motor as well! Enjoy!!

No no no - I do not take it for granted! I enjoy my added purchasing power to its fullest extent!

But yes, I agree - other countries taxes, fees, etc, make the price different huge!
