VENETIAN VIOLET M3. First ever US BMW produced in this color

I did Euro Delivery on July 20. My car is part of the Delivery stop so I was unable to drive it outside of The Welt.

I was originally set to order Daytona Violet but Techno Violet has always been my favorite BMW purple due to it's more Blueish hue. I saw a thread that showed Venetian Violet (an Audi color) and a picture of a UK M3 in Venetian Violet. Game over.

So decision made, order placed, car built 5 weeks prior to Delivery. However, I had been quite anxious the last month or so prior to delivery as this color was decided upon sight unseen (no real life sighting) and the pictures I found on the Internet varied significantly.

I was both shocked and relieved when I saw the car in person. It is, in my humble and obviously unbiased opinion, the most spectacular color that I have ever seen on a BMW. It will be the first in the US for this color.

Here are some pictures to whet your appetite. I wish that I had more but the delivery stoppage put an end to that opportunity.

Actually no. I live in Atlanta and the 19in wheels would be driving hell on our in town streets. The 18's are staying mainly because I like them A LOT more than I like the 19in but also for the improved comfort.

Oh, well I live just north of ATL but I hate driving driving my car through ATL because the roads DO suck, but tolerable even with coilovers! See you around

It's sort of like saying that Tanzanite blue is pretty close to Lemans blue because they are both "blue". In real life they are quite different. Both gorgeous (Tanzanite and Daytona were both on my list). This is the reason that we choose to do Individual.

Daytona is sort of close, being that they are both in the violet spectrum. Daytona is more red than mine, especially in the sunlight. And there are actually several current and older M3s in DV. Zero other BMWs in my color in the US.
I would bet that my color is closer to Velvet blue in certain lighting conditions than it is to Daytona Violet. There is a Velvet blue F80 in Atlanta that I hope to one day see in person.
Either way, thanks! I know one thing, mine is unique in the US. It will be rare once someone else gets VV but it will never be ordinary.
