amplifier crossover settings

I have the Base stereo system in my E90 and have just replaced the front door mids and underseat subs with logic 7 parts. I have also added l7 tweeters. Powering this is a 4 channel amp.

But I'm struggling to set the amp, what crossover settings shall I set it to? I presume the subs should be set to lpf and the mids/tweeters to hpf?

Is that correct? If so what frequency should they be set at?

If you didn't split the parallel connection

If you didn't split the parallel connection
between the underseats and the doors then there isn't much
point in setting a crossover point since your trying to do
the whole range of frequency's with one channel. If you did split
the connection then somewhere between 150 and 200 for low
passing the under seats.
I would try 180 then play with that.

Thank you for the link, very informative.

Yes I did split the parallel connection.

I think I will try around 170hz for the subs and 130hz for the mids.

Has anyone got any other suggestions for the l7 parts? Is there a data sheet which tells the exact values?

Did the L7 mids and tweets come with some sorta external x-over?

I would start with underseats LP 180, mids HP at 180 and LP at 3k. Then play with the tweets from 3k HP up to 6k HP

No, the tweeters plug straight into the mids.

One of the bad points of the L7 doors is

One of the bad points of the L7 doors is
it doesn't have a real passive crossover that can be adjusted.
Most of the aftemarket crossovers for components sets
at least allow you to set the level between the tweeter
and midrange. With the base system you are suppose to
use a cleansweep , a processor or recode to hi fi to tame the eq.
