make sure your postive terminal/switch power/ground are all securely fastened... are you running 2/26? I have yet to experience that but my switched power was loose and i did once before fixing the connection.

fuel pump will be sputtery and unable to accelerate, if you are experience a spaced, hard stutter it is probably switched power, especially if you are just tapping into the fuse it is really easy to not have it be secure i have to reach in there and push it into place all the time (set it up so i can do this without having to unscrew anything).

LOL most of us are idiots thinking the worst. I think Serjames is right. Sounds EXACTLY like traction control.

On these cars, does fuel cut put the car into limp (boost-limited) mode? It has on a couple of the turbo cars that I've driven. Just curious.

Grimace,
Did you follow the proper adaptation procedures as recommended?

1. Its used so the harness may be fscked up (u really dont know - double check it, contact points may be messed up - I HATE buying used electrical harnesses). 2. I would reload the firmware and the latest map. 3. Find Eugene's post about how to reset adaptations - more or less unplug the battery for an hour and do certain rpm pulls. I wish people would read whats been posted on the board thousands of times before posting they had a limp mode. 99% of the limps are due to install issues not tune.

Had the exact same problem. If I hammered it from a launch it wouldnt happen but if I was just cruising along and then tried to get on it it would do exactly as you describe.

Redoing something by computer produces the same result as it did in the first place 99.99% of the cases. Shiv does not unplug the battery. Is there any BMW documentation about what really happens by doing that? If anything? What exactly happens at the 60th minute? Doing the installations differently from Vishnu instructions might not make any harm, but no wonder there are installation problems... |

I would check over each wire for continuity with a volt meter. The problem with used harnesses is that people generally aren't very careful when they pull them out, if they know they are about to sell the unit. So yes, lane is correct, proper solid state electronics do not have wear, so to speak. However, used electronic components can have wear if they are not handled properly.
