Replacing the BMW Roundels (trunk, hood, wheels)

Has anyone had any luck with the vinyl/sticker roundels to replace the stock ones on the wheels/hood/trunk, steering wheel? Or is it just best to buy the real ones?

I want to buy blue/black carbon fiber ones.

here is the look I want: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181809578620...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Yes. The vinyl works and lasts. Many have done this with no issues.

Nice color choice, too!

Sounds like the vinyl is a good route to go then. I didn't want to pry off the emblems and what not.

Are they difficult to apply? Seems like it would be tedious to line up like 30 of these stickers.

it does take time and since you are overlaying both the white and the blue you'll more than likely need a little over an hour.

I went with actual roundel replacement. No complaints so far.

I may go this route if the vinyls do not work out. However, I don't feel comfortable removing the trunk and hood emblems. Was that difficult?

There's nothing to it! Two posts in grommets. Gently prying at the 3 & 9 o'clock positions, using a microfiber towel or some other protection (credit card) for your paint. Some have slipped dental floss or fishing line under the roundel's edge to force it up/out.

Well maybe its not too bad then. And the new ones snap in with no issues i assume? Do you know if I can I get roundels in blue and black carbon fiber?

I've seen blue & white and black & white carbon fiber badges. A quick Google revealed black & blue carbon fiber badge sets from these guys: http://www.autowheelcapled.com/. I have no idea about the quality of the vendor or products.

I bought these, and they do not fit my f32. The pins on mine were different and there is also adhesive on the stock ones.

The guys at the BMW dealer use one of those plastic straps from a shipping box

I emoved the hood emblem with no issues. Its way easier than you would think.

Just need to find a better set of replacement emblems. Id be ok with white and black carbon fiber emblems.

Does anyone know where one might find blank color matched emblems or emblems with other types of logos?

I am fairly certain I just ended up buying some roundels for my wheels off Amazon that the description claimed it was OEM. Needed them because I noticed one was missing after a particularly nasty Chicago pothole. Couldn't tell the difference from what came with the vehicle.
