First day at the drag strip (Need advice)

Car
2007 335i Coupe 6AT
-Cobb AP Stage 1+ aggressive tune
-DCI
-7 Inch FMIC
-Axelback Exhaust
-VRSF Chargepipe w/HKS BOV

I'll be running on 93 of course no additives
I'm on Michelin Pilot Super Sports 245/35/19 all around

Any tips on the launch, best rpm and should I launch 1st gear or second gear

What times should I be running, I'll be at 550 feet above sea level. Should be between 60-70 degrees

Thanks guys!

I always launch in first with all traction off.

I have never found that method very productive unless you have drag radials or slicks. 2ND gear launch has always netted the best times for me in an AT on street tires.

with or without traction? and why do you say?

I go to Santa Pod (UK) which is an official drag strip with asphelt. ive never struggled for grip or had any issues. I imagine surface is a big contributing factor.

Hard to know without full details of the tune and how much boost you are running. You probably should get high 12's.

For autos the brake boosting sounds the best technique. 1st gear if traction is good. 2nd gear if it isn't. Shift at 6000 to 6200 rpm after 1st and 2nd.
