New to the familia - 2016 535i Mediterranean Blue
Traded in 235xi for this new 2016 535i.
This is my 3rd 5 series over the years having owned both E39 and E60 (both with V8's). Have always appreciated a fast, luxury sedan and the F'10 is a beautiful looker imo. I would have probably ordered an Msport, but this Luxury Line was in dealer stock and there is some smoking deals on F'10's right now!
I'm getting it detailed and the interior protection package put in next week. Will post up some pix afterwards. Not that anyone wants to see another bone-stock F'10 lol! Mods? Not sure yet. I may get some sexier wheels next spring. Looking for a gently used winter tire/wheel package if someone has one for sale.

Congrats on the new ride. I just so happen to have a set of 19in Beyern Hypersilver mesh wheels (tires are all season so not quite what you were looking for, but thought I'd mention it). I'm also in the midwest, so crossing my fingers on shipping costs.

Feel free to pm me some pix. Right now I am having a very difficult time prying the car from the wife. She's seemed to have developed quite an affinity for this new vehicle over her x4 lol!

Here's a few before pix off the smartphone today... Catching a little bit of dim sun. Fineline Anthracite trim inside.

Looks very good.
May be I am out of what is being offered these days but how did a non M-Sport car ended up with a M-Sport steering wheel? Just curious.

Midwest 535i I'm considering making the same move. The M235i has too rough of a ride for me, the roads are terrible here. I know the seats are much better, but how is the ride in comparison?

Wider, longer, heavier, more upscale and a more luxurious car... Really apple vs an orange in the BMW line-up. Built to deliver against a different segment or mobile mission for sure. The 5 feels planted but the F'10 is not nearly as toss-able as F'22. The steering is vague like the F'22, the size and suspension handle bumps better (much better). I really feel like I could go cross-country in this car and feel just fine - and I have a bad lower back. Multi contour seats are crazy comfortable and supportive. All that said, you do feel connected driving this car. Its not a floaty boat. Its more refined than F22 and it does have some personality. Plenty of pep at the line too (at least my 535 is). And I'm coming from a very fast M235 as context. IF you go with V8 that's even more visceral. Tires as you know can make all the difference and if you get a 5'er with the damphening (sp) and Msport it will handle all the better - but not like F'22. This is my 3rd 5'er so I knew exactly what to expect and how (after the new car excitement wears-off) its like to drive daily. The 2'er is a blast, but like you, I didnt want a small coupe as an everyday driver anymore. I'm thinking a Boxster, Z3 even a miata to go with this 5. Something to scratch that itch when I want to toss a car around. GL!
