Newbie post! Looking for general 335d information

Hi all, I just joined after a long time of debating my next car. I've decided a 2009-2011 335d would be great for my needs (140 mile commute, 95% highway, some stop and go).

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good FAQ's, buying guides, etc for the D? I've done a lot of research and am well aware of CBU and problematic emissions equipment. My plan is to buy one that's been deleted (or do it myself) and maybe even go water meth if the CBU is bad. And a JR tune of course.

I'm also open to hear opinions on ownership. I'm somewhat familiar with diesels, I'm currently dailying a 2001 VW Golf TDI 5 speed with 290k miles on it. All opinions are welcome.

Thanks in advance!

For the love of peat, this is same question that has happened about 4 times in last few months. Moderators, we really need a sticky on one of these threads to help out the new guys. We are constantly reinventing the wheel. I think even this week, same deal where a newb comes and we answered.

We can create a DIY sticky by bumping it once per hour... :

Yes we are. If you check out TDIclub.com, you'll understand why and see just how handy sticky posts are in avoiding newbies from asking "newbie" questions followed by said newbie searching hundreds of posts trying to figure out common pros and cons of the vehicle they are researching.

That said...this sub forum and specifically most in this thread have been a tremendous help to me as I have transitioned from VW to the 335D.

Thank you all for your constructive input! I'm pleased to announce that I have now been granted pm privileges.

I have actually done a lot of research on the forums and answered my above question before creating my account, I just needed to post something to be given full account access.
