BPC Tuning mission statement
There has been a lot of information being shared among various threads over the last two weeks and we want to clarify a couple of important key points the we have seen brought up.
First off, we do apologize for the silence the past weeks, we want to make clarification on what happened. We wont go into specifics of the situation but we had to momentarily pause our tuning process. Now that we have the issue cleared up, we are looking to move forward with our street and competition only tuning services. Again, we want to state; Any tune that we sell to the community that removes or disables ANY type of emission control from your vehicle is for off-road race use only. Waivers will need to be signed prior to completing any tuning services. We receive a lot of questions about whether vehicles will pass emissions testing after a tune, and the answer is NO. Faults will remain as “Not Ready” or “Not Available” after modifications because our intentions are to increase power, not keep the race car street legal. Our Stage 1 and Stage 2 emissions enabled tunes are not C.A.R.B. compliant, and are not for use in the state of California. Just as a recap: We are STILL tuning 335D vehicles, nothing has changed, we are only restructuring to better educate our customers for proper use of the products and operate within compliance. If you have any questions, please feel free to eMail Bob at Webmaster@bimmerperformancecenter.com Last edited by John@BPC; 10-20-2016 at 11:24 AM.. |

Intentions is spelled with a 't' not 's'. On the CARB statement: does that include the other 12 states in the CA "alliance"? Inquiring minds in the left coast state of Washington want to know... |

Whew, that's a bit of relief!! Those of us that want an "off-road only" tune can we expect the same power as what was previously offered?

We also have a little surprise for you as well.
Bob has been working extremely hard to push the boundaries with the factory turbo's lately and we've just achieved record power. Again. ***This was a one off custom tune bob did for a customer. This is not our regular stage 2 or stage 3 tune. Client had ABC delete, swirl flap block-off, and stock intercooler. *** Here's the Dyno chart. Keep in mind, this is on STOCK turbo's. Not hybrids. Power at the wheels Red - Stock 236 hp / 395 ft. lb. Blue - Tuned without methanol injection 385 hp / 594 ft. lb. Green - Tuned with Methanol injection 1250cc / Min. 429 hp / 640 ft. lb. Thanks for clearing the air John! I'm bummed to hear that your tunes aren't CARB compliant as we just picked up an X5 oil burner. I understand why though as it's amazingly expensive to get that certification.

Very very very few tunes are CARB compliant, even the ones that pass smog are typically not CARB compliant.

Hi John, thank you for updating us on the situation.
I have one question only: Are any of your tunes actually legal to use in non CARB states? Like EPA compliant? |
