New 335d NJ owner

Just saying hello as I just purchased a 2009 BMW 335d Sport. Ive had my fair share of cars and decided to put my 2015 WRX up for sale and buy this. Just wanted a change of pace. Been in a few BMWs before, 2003 330i and 2003 M5, so this would make my third bmw and I love it so far. Im looking into going full EGR delete and all the other stuff to get rid of any problems and make the engine run as is was meant. Ive always tuned my cars to be fast and reliable, almost 100k on a 2008 Cobalt SS turbo (friend owns it now) and 42k on my WRK, both with no issues. So I know that with proper driving and good tuning and mods this should be a pleasure.

Anyone in North NJ that wants to meet up / or give advice Im all ears! First things first I need to get a winter setup on this car for the sad months ahead.

Here are a few shots from the dealer.

Welcome to the unique obsession or as some call it disease. It is a love hate thing.

Love the color combo....

Need to black out the kidneys and paint those lower grills black, smoked side marker and blacked out 335d badge

Awesome to find same colored vehicles! I loved it when I saw it as well, had been ruthlessly looking for a few months, kept seeing cars sell and nothing i could get my hands on in time.

Yes, black/smoked bits on the outside for sure. I had that all planned out for summer. Gonna keep as much change in my pockets while i get to learn this car.

Hey man welcome! I'm in a similar boat in nj too. You got a plan for tuning?

Recently just got a 2010 335d with 55k on it. I just fueled up two days ago at my usual Wawa and then all the sudden when I started my car to drive home after work I had 5 codes, all of which relating to cbu except for p21a8 which has to do with the def tank.

I'm pretty competent with cars so I knew what I was getting into before I even test drove the car but other than the annoying ses light being on, there are no warning signs that there is cbu. No power loss, no drop in mpg. I've been getting 30-31 on the run flats since I got the car 2 months ago.

I knew I was going to do the alphabet delete this summer but didn't expect it to be needed just yet since it has such low miles. It's all good tho I'm gonna get ready to walnut blast the valves, clean the intake and delete the egr, dpf, gut the scr and tune. Does anybody in nj have a local tuner or do y'all just reach out to jr?

Sorry about the rant. But welcome! I'm new to the bmw scene so I'm not familiar with the meets or whatever but I like to work on cars and drink some beers so anybody that's in the area and wants to meet up or collaborate on some work lemme know.
