How can you see engine temp?

I see a lot of people posting about engine temp. How can you view it on the dash?

Not on the dash; most are using an OBD II Dongle and Torque or Carly phone apps, or similar.

Can be done on the dash too. I've written the technique before. You need to add up the sum of last five digits of your VIN for the unlock code. Access menu #19 and wait until it says code, then push trip odometer button until you count up to this sum of the 5 digits. Engine coolant temp is menu 7 after you have unlocked. It doesn't stay unlocked. Every key cycle it re locks.

Go google "using cluster menus E90". Not sure where I explained on these threads but it's here. I'll try to find it.
