Recent Stage 2+ tune, exhaust, and CBU -- VIDEOS!!!

I am a newer member here on the forums as most could tell by my rep, however, I noticed that there was a lack of videos on here of products from forum sponsors and contributors. Here's my contribution! BTW, already got blasted for not having emissions on reddit, so if you have an issue, shut the fuck up and move on. If you guys have any questions about the car or installation of any of these mods just ask away and I'll do my best to answer you!

Mods:

BPC Stage 2+ Tune
Iaknown's full exhaust, down pipe, and EGR block
Forge Boost Hose
Wagner intercooler
CBU Cleaning (not really a mod, but worth noting)

Future mods:

Hybrid Turbos
Meth injection

Exhaust cold/warm start with revs + pulling into my mom's garage (I made this on thanksgiving day, not my house)

40-150 mph run on a local air strip. Don't mind the SES light, that is gone now. Rear pad wear sensor came loose and the wires rubber the inside of the wheel. The TPMS is removed from the front left wheel (That will be address when I throw my winter tires on)

Finally, a launch video in DS mode from another car's viewpoint

Just let me know what you want and I shall provide! I just put my winter tires on so I have next to no traction when I punch it. But I do hope to find a set of 513M wheels with the Michelin Pilot sport tires. If not I will get the wheels and slap a set of RE71R's on them.

If you guys want a detailed write up with photos of how I performed all the work on the car I can make a new thread for the full ABC delete with some issues I ran into but resolved. I noticed that there's next to no information on these forums on how to do the EGR block or DPF delete unless you dig into the threads.

Saw your post on Reddit. Don't let it get to you, most of those folks don't realize our cars don't ALWAYS smoke like that, and think we are always black smoking like diesel trucks driven by highschoolers. Absolutely LOVE your car! It is exactly what I want for my car when I have the money(or someone wants to be VERY generous). I don't think I'll ever go hybrid turbos, but TB Exhaust, EGR Block(already installed, not gonna go race pipe), upgraded boost hose, possibly Wagner IC, and BPC Stage 2+. I'd love a full write up if it isn't too much to ask. Your car is my goal, so having an easy step by step would be a godsend! If you ever want to go back to stock, I'll swap you part for part Look forward to seeing you around these threads more.

I think you will find your thread gets mixed in with everything else, just as similar threads have before. There is tons of information on the subjects you mentioned. But as you noted, it can be hard to find. The moderators on this forum are not very responsive. A few more stickies wouldn't hurt. Self disciple in posts can also be a problem here as it is in other forums.

I would suggest getting a link on http://www.fixmyvw.com/bmw-DIY/. They are trying to solve the info problem with the 335d. Your contribution would be appreciated, I'm sure.

Great videos! On your cold start vid, the smoke looked more blue than black, like it was oil as opposed to diesel soot. Any issues burning oil?

That looked perfectly normal, to me. #2 diesel is after all, a "light" oil. A bit of startup smoke is expected, and in extreme cold, can be voluminous and longer lasting.

I was thinking of going hybrid turbos because of how many miles the car has. I just rolled 121k this week. Upgrading the turbos with new bearings, compressor wheels, and seals would only guarantee the longevity of the car with a minor adjustment to the tune to compensate. At least thats how I justify spending the money.

I'll do it the next time I have my car up on the lift, probably in a couple weeks when I flush all my fluids for the winter. I was in a hurry to get the car done the weekend I did all the modifications so I didn't stop to take any photos.

Looks like it is a sport based on wheels and not an m-sport. Must of had a front end conversion.

It's a sport package that has a M-Sport bumper on it. Pretty easy mod to do.

Guess I'm a pleb that doesnt know the difference between an M-sport and a Sport package. I added the bumper myself, one popped up on the local Chitown ///M page and I bought it for $100 and had my buddy paint match it. I will get the M sport rear bumper and side skirt extensions eventually, but I'm more focused on suspension upgrades now that I'm done with the brakes and engine.

Let me know if this link works. This was yesterday at the BMW Performance Center in Greer, SC for the Sandlapper BMWCCA Winter autocross using the full track. Car performed great and got a lot of attention.

Gary - I am from Tryon, NC and lived in Spartanburg for several years. My parents are in Rutherfordton now and I visit often. I'll buy you a beer and some wings at Chiefs sometime.

Car looks great BTW.
