It's gotta be a body shop used by one of the Chicago area BMW dealerships though. |

To the OP's point, I'm not sure if A&L is used by a BMW dealer officially or not. If so, they are a great choice.
Another suggestion, if not: International Body Shop in Elmhurst, about two blocks from Elmhurst BMW on Lake St. I got rear-ended on my way to a service appointment at Elmhurst BMW, and my SA called up International Body Shop to repair the damage. They do a lot of work for Elmhurst BMW, had a lot of nice cars in the shop, even a new i8. I was very happy with the (minor cosmetic) work they did on my bumper. I can't speak to more major work from experience, but they seemed to do a great job overall and were very easy to work with. |

Or us, Fields BMW in Northfield, we use Glenview Auto body, which is also part of the Fields Auto Group. They are pretty good, had couple of my clients fixed up through insurance there.
Just looked up and surprised by below average online reviews......

Not sure why it has to be a body shop used by a dealer but If working with your insurance company I would try to push for A&L. They do great work.
I tried the Knauz body shop recently for my X1 that is leased, thinking they should do a good job since they have a bmw and mb dealer, but they were horrible, did half the job and tried to make me pay more out of pocket after they got the insurance check. |

Thanks for everyone's input. The car was damaged in Europe. The VDC missed the insurance claim and didn't fix the car how they were supposed to. It's a long story but after me taking the matter with BMWNA they told me to take the car to the nearest BMW dealership. Ended up going with Patrick BMW.
Thanks guys |

I seriously don't understand all off these people recommending A&L! Are the getting kick backs? What a ignorant bunch. Title clearly states BMW dealer with good body shop. Besides so many different body shops that will do the job just as right for less money. Ridiculous.
