You're going to get so many different opinions here. I would just look examples up online and find what makes you happy. Don't go off other people's preferences, go with yours.
You're going to have people recommend the following: Traditional / Simplistic - Black, Silver, Gray Common - Red, Yellow Unique - Green, Blue, Orange, Pink, White, etc.

Best caliper color for stock calipers is whatever color they came stock. No need to draw attention to stock calipers (or any floating-style calipers really).
If theyre fixed rotors, paint whatever color warms your heart. |

I've always been a fan of Blue calipers on a White.
I'm thinking about painting mine as well - either Black or Red. |

No offense but this sort of goes along with the red scoops. I'm with Hooper, paint them matte gray. This is more of main E90 forum question where you will get many more opinions. Not saying question is unwelcome here.

I have a Space Gray D and painted the calipers blue. Behind black wheels it doesn't stand out too much, but I really like how it looks. Paired it up with some drilled and slotted rotors from R1 Concepts and my brakes look fantastic. Don't listen to everyone else here. It's your car, do what makes you happy. I would say red brakes are a no, but I can't stand red brakes on any vehicle. If it was me, with Alpine White, I'd go for white or silver. G2 makes fantastic products.

I have alpine white. I removed and cleaned the calipers and repainted in a matte silver. They looked great for about 2 months, now they're covered in grime again. I recommend the matte silver.
Like many people have said, no need to draw attention to our 1 pot calipers. Not saying they can't be more than adequate for the track with fluid, ss lines, pads and rotors, but no need to draw attention to them |

I'm working on painting mine now. I generally don't like painted calipers for the reason stated a few times here. All the nooks and crannies collect grime and the cast texture shows up. They look nice until the first time you drive the car.
That said, I have a Miata with the BBS/Brembo package and the calipers are gorgeous and stay clean with just basic attention when I wash the car. The reason is twofold. First, they are smooth, rather than cast texture. Second, they are solid without all the places to hold crud. So I decided to experiment with doing that to my stock calipers. The 335d has giant brakes, so they'd look good if done right. Last weekend, I spent about 3 hours per caliper sanding all the texture smooth. A couple coats of primer, then sanding, then color and clear and the finish is smooth. Next, I'm making aluminum covers to go over the complex bits that hold dirt. The below pic is my first go at it. There's a bit of a gap at the top I have fixed with the other side. I also tweaked the design so the whole cover will fit more flush. I'll do a real post when it's done. But here's the work in progress. Note that when these are done, you won't see the gap or the mounting screw. Yes, they look like covers now. But they'll look good when they're done. I'm thinking about lettering them ("BMW" maybe?) to break up the big surface. They already look decent behind the wheel. Wish I had a picture with me... |

Painted stock calipers just look tacky...no matter what the colour but that's only my opinion

Below is the rear caliper. Yes, they're smaller, but I don't think that's too offensive. I've seen lots of cars with very nice name-brand factory calipers that have small rears. Doesn't bother me, personally. Also, I forgot to take a picture of attempt #2 before mounting the wheel, but here it is through the wheel. I'm going to re-do the first one and see if I can make the gap line disappear (under casual inspection).
