Supersprint exhaust
SS have dynoed an M3 with their full system and claim about 30Hp and 30+NM of gain! Now I have had exhausts installed on many of my cars (including a triple cat delete+ 3" piping in my WRX) and yes sometimes I have felt a hike in power and freer breathing of the engine but nothing close to this. Do you guys reckon this is actual data or just a marketing trick? Data and graphs are available at www.supersprint.com I think their original graph shows 300hp at the wheels which doesn't sound right.

Its insulting that they even put those numbers out there. might as well be marketing a glass pack for Pep Boys. |

I had a straight exhaust(no-mufflers) for racing on my Cooper S and without an upgraded exhaust manifold it produced 19hp. That was on a 1.6L supercharged 200whp car, when I went to a rotrex charger, upgraded cylinder head, and custom exhaust manifold, it had a 20hp increase over my Magnaflow exhaust, which over stock has a 12hp increase. So a muffled FULL exhaust system on a 420hp V8, producing 30hp should be cake.

Sounds a bit too aggressive! Anything I think is possible but donīt see why no one else was able to and these guys yes. In fact, no one claims over 10hp really.

I think because everyone else is just has a cat-back system, while the SuperSprint is a FULL exhaust system (includes new catalytic converter). It's very surprising how restrictive factory systems and cats are. The more I look at it though, 27hp is a bit lofty. I'm sure more info will be out in the future.

exhaust mods produce more significant gains on forced induction vehicles than on naturally aspirated cars. Also, i would imagine that the mini's stock exhaust setup would be more conservative than the M3's stock setup. Therefore, an aftermarket setup could produce a more significant gain. I hope that the +30hp info is correct. That would be awesome. However, I doubt it will produce 30 hp....just my2 cents. |

I do also hope it creates that much power, but like I also stated a couple hours ago, it seems pretty lofty.
