what about touchless car washes?? the ones with only the water spray? Is that still bad for the car?? can't be great for the wax with that much pressure, but it shouldn't hurt the paint, right?

then you jump out with your favorite drying rag and dry her up.

and so the only way we car wash our cars right now (here in the Triangle) is to go to a carwash. Certainly I would rather wash it myself, but right now we're not allowed.

So I echo the question: Is Laserwash bad or something? In addition, would it hurt the clear bra at all?

thanx

Just say no. Wheel damage is common on the rails they use. And they don't come close to doing as good a job as you'd do yourself.

Most of those rails aren't made for 9.5" wide wheels, I had my E36 wheels scraped up at a car wash.

As others have said, resist the temptation. There's too high a chance of regret.

my favorite part of the car wash is when the guy at the end of the touchless carwash picks up a towel from the aspalt that has already dried 42 cars that day and gives your car a quick dry!

I have a place near my house that hand washes my car without putting it on the track. It's the best! I wash it about 2 times a week and its 30 bucks each time. Not cheap, but anything for my M3. If you can find a place like mine, then do it!

Our laser wash doesn't have rails, no brushes and does a great job of getting the bugs off after a long HWY run. On the weekends I do my own hand wash and wax on. No swirl marks or problems with my 330 or so far in the M3. If the car is realy realy dirty, the laser wash will only get the top dirt off. Still need to do it by hand. I usually dont let the M get too dirty though.
