Active Autowerke is proud to introduce a new option for lowering your F8X! Advanced Suspension Technology (AST) has released a set of lowering springs specifically for the F8X M3 and M4. We’ve had the opportunity to test a set on our shop car for the last few months and we’re now ready to offer them to the public! Who is Advanced Suspension Technology? AST was established in 2000 and have been producing high quality suspension components for multiple applications for the past 17 years. They currently manufacture the entire MOTON product line as well and have proven themselves year after year in competition and racing applications. Many may be familiar with AST and MOTON from their motorsports reputation, but they’ve now taken their expertise and top tier manufacturing capabilities to the street market! The AST F8X lowering springs keep similar spring rates to OEM in the front, with a slightly higher rear rate to help reduce some of the inherent understeer that the chassis naturally suffers from. The drop remains even at both ends to keep the OEM weight distribution and does not require any modification to the OEM bump stops. The AST lowering springs are compatible with both EDC and non-EDC cars. AST’s goal was to use their extensive experience in the suspension manufacturing world to create a lowering spring kit that would be suitable for daily use while still promoting a sport oriented ride. The end product lowers the center of gravity, stiffens the rear enough to help dial out understeer, and still offers excellent bump compliance on the street!
