N47D20 DPF Flex pipe

Hi there.

I tried posting this in the above section but i can't seem to get an answer and it's confusing the way they are layed out... so im posting here as well, since this is the "turbo diesel" forum., and yes i know it says m57/n57!

So!. My DPF flex pipe has come loose and i've been looking for possible solutions but i'm a bit unsure atm.

Has anyone tried to move the flex piece further down to the straight section to minimize the strain it takes being in the bend or to remove it completely?

I'm not quite sure why it's there in the first place, does it make it easier to remove the DPF?
Or is it there to take the initial vibrations? there are rubber bushings all the way back so that seems very weird.
Could it be bad engine mounts? but that goes back to vibration and mine are fine.

Im kinda lost on this.. Anyone who has something on this?

Thanks
