Get your ac system checked. Freon isnt meant to leak out.

Why would it blow colder on the passenger side? Having it checked at any autozone/pepboys/oreilly's is ok?

The evaporator is closer to the passenger side which is why that side blows colder. I had the same exact problem 2 summers back and it was because the system was low on refrigerant.

Not necessarily but it would be a good place to start. You really should bring it to a shop that knows what they're doing cause AC work is not something you want to DIY or cheap out on if you don't know what you're doing.

For what it's worth, I have to do a recharge at the beginning of every summer. I just use a can that has a built in gauge from a generic car parts store. My system is definitely leaking. However, the recharge always lasts the summer and lets the a/c work great.

Yes, I should get it fixed professionally.

Our AC systems need total of 1.3 Lbs.....if you have more or less it will cause this symptom as well.
so get it checked fully......
PS: Mine had over 2 Lbs, and was not getting cold at all.
