Clear Bra???

Does anyone have a clear bra on their M3?? If so what are your opinions of it? Of course my dealer wants $1200 for one....but some of the examples I've seen don't impress me very much....."IF" I get one I don't want to see any seams....some of the pre-cut ones leave seams all over the place which I really don't like...of course the full custom ones that cost a bit more will tuck the clear bra under lights, in body seams, etc so you can't see the lines, except for the hood.....

I remember seeing a high end clear bra place in the Bay Area that does AWESOME work..ya it takes a while and is seriously pricey..but I saw an Enzo they did that looked SWEET....can't remember the name though?

I went with Omega Werks in Pleasanton and they did a great job on my car. I've heard some people go to Premier in Fremont as well. Personally, Omega gave me a much better price, but from what I've heard and seen, both do a great job. I'm too lazy right now to attach a link to some posts including pics of my car, but there are a lot of posts and pictures on this subject in this forum - search "clear bra".

When you have a clear bra, do you need to wax the surface at all or just wash and wax the "non protected" surfaces?

You can wash/wax just like the rest of the car. My understanding is that there is a layer of clear coat on the film that should be treated just like the painted surfaces. If you wax the coated areas, they will be easier to clean just like painted surfaces. However, to save some time, the guy that did my install suggested that I simply use a quick detail on the film surfaces, instead of wax.

Nope, here you go. 3M Clear Bra covers the whole front of the car (even fog lights) and ~1/4 up the hood. Also had the back of the mirrors and door handle cups done. It has saved the paint from some rock dings
Non-dealer cost for a 335i was $715 (incl tax)

Completely false. I took a heat gun to my hood's clear bra and damaged it, so I had Premier come back to take it off, and they had it off my car in 5 minutes.

After they took the damaged one off they put a new one on. Took them about an hour to do everything. What I did was pretty harsh. They told me I could heat gun scratches out, but me being the fool I am I mistakenly put the heat gun on high and cracked the bra. Oh well, it's all good now! What I was supposed to do was keep it on low and lightly graze the surface and the scratches are supposed to fade. That's what makes VentureShield so great.
