Anyone running catted or catless DPs in NY & passing emissions?

Recently picked up e92 335 n54, and mod bug has bitten me. Looking to go for some downpipes but am concerned about passing NY emissions. Couldn't find any *recent* threads on this.

Not looking to be too loud so am considering catted if (a) they are worth it performance wise, and (b) I won't run into inspection issues and have to revert back.

Anyone have recent experience here? Do I need a DP fix? And if so, can I use this without having a tune?

Thanks!

Thanks. I've been told NY is very strict. Wonder if it's any different than NJ...

You're allowed one monitor to fail in New York. I'm catless and I've passed every year. You shouldn't have an issue.

Also stay away from catted downpipes the race cats tend to fail at some point.

What do you guys mean by "one monitor"? And do you have any other mods that are helping you pass?

Can anyone else confirm this? That you can pass New York's strict inspection with a check engine light on and catless dps !??

I run a stage 2 tune that surpasses the check engine light. I believe MHD has a toggle to set the car into readiness if you want all monitors in a ready state. You are allowed to have one fail in New York.

I ran catless and passed NY. As others said, you can still pass if one of your OBD monitors isn't complete but you still can't have any error codes or SES lights. Without a tune you'll get 2 monitors fail as well as 1 error code at least. With a tune you should be able to get down to 1 monitor and 0 error codes.

Additionally you can try using o2 simulators or spacers.
