ccv oil accumulation
Instead of taking a different thread in this direction I thought I'd start a new one.
I recently removed my intercooler piping to install a new intercooler and noticed a line of oil at the bottom of my throttle body about 2mm wide. Is that a normal amount. It's been about 600 miles since I had it out and cleaned when I cleaned my valves and intake. Wonder how much I'm going to accumulate in my new intercooler if there is a puddle at the throttle body? |

Your new ic will feel good when you put it on in part because the old ic is full of oil. In reality a lot of it is just having a clean ic, as oil not only reduces cooling efficiency it changes the combustion in the engine (oil is a fuel). In gasoline engines oil lowers octane in diesel its changing when ignition occurs. This is why folks who race routinely clean their ic. Last edited by Thecastle; 08-09-2017 at 04:48 AM.. |
