asymmetric rear wheels/fender gaps?

Just noticed that wheels/tires are not symmetric in relation to the fender. The gap is a few mm off. Not sure if it's the body/fender (favored) or the axle is off center? Anyone else notice this? On pics is Right and left side, with ruler straight down along the fender (fender is a little curved).

after I lowered my car I noticed that I rub the right front wheel on dips and not the left. so it could definitely be off.

It's the weight balance of the car. Each corner has a slightly different weight

Thanks. Could it be alignment? I'm going with 285s on stock rims in near future, so I don't want it to look weird. Might ask the dealer...
