Thinking about doing a stage 1 remap.

What options are there for tuners in the UK. I've had quotes from DMS and CelticTuning, although I'd never heard of Celtic before a google search.

The two quotes are quite different in both cost and power output. So looking for advice and recommendations.

Try Imran @ Evolve. Am just waiting on some RK piping and filters then off to Evolve. Have used them on 2 cars now. Their service, professionalism and knowledge is unbelievable. Plus they have probably the most powerful F10 M5 in the country...

Sorry OP, this is OT.

Which meth kit are you using? And is it a mapped meth kit, where meth flow is proportional to boost / revs, rather than one that just runs constant on a preset boost?

I use AEM, and is not mapped for meth, our ecu's do a great job of working it out on their own, just needed 10 or so long 3rd gear pulls and she's good to go

CelticTuning will try to tune anything from TD5 Defenders to very high end vehicles and from my experience they should not be tuning anything other than a dustbin which should be left open until they fall in and the lid put on!

Generic crap bought in from China at a fraction of what they charge and will damage your pride and joy - stay well away is my best advice.

Having worked very closely with a specialist tuner for many years and having looked at the maps produced by them you would be surprised at the results and effects on the engine.

Go to a specialist BMW tuner - it will be more expensive but hey-ho you did not buy an M5 to be cheap

Thanks everyone for your replies. Time for me to make a few calls and get more info. Was going to avoid Celtic anyway as they just seem way to cheap.

i like the sound of 800bhp where do you start with achieving that, i currently have a race chip fitted to mine but have always been optimistic about the outputs claimed by them.

would i be right in thinking replacement down pipes stage 2 map plus the meth kit would get me somewhere near?

cheers

Correct... stage 2 evolve, down pipes, good mid-section exhaust, pure meth should bring you to 800 crank
