Nav System DVD Version

I just looked at the DVD in my Nav system and it was dated 2004. I looked on the NavTeq website and they say the latest version for e90 is 2005.2

Does anyone have a different version in their system? I was thinking that since I took delivery of the new car on Tuesday that it would have the latest version.

The current USA and Euro DVD's are 2005-2

What comes in your car depends what was available in the factory when your car was built. Yours was probably built before the 2005 version was released to the factory or someone at the dealer swaped disks

I was wondering if some Nav owners can check their DVD to see what version number they have. This may give me more leverage when talking to my dealer.

Thanks.

Jones99, you should have received the 2005-2 version. Go back to your dealer to demand you get the right one for your car.

Take a look at the 2005-2 Euro Map package. If anyone has one, please PM me, I'm am looking to borrow one for my ED trip at the end of JULY. Thanks.

An update:

My salesman informed that 2005.2 is indeed the latest version and that I could pay $200 to get the upgrade.

I almost fell out of my chair. So, I explained in a very upset voice that I expected he would resolve the problem and get me the new disk. He claimed he was concerned that BMW Customer Service wouldn't treat him as well as me and that maybe I should call. I told him he needed to make it right. That was about 5 days ago and I've not heard a word.

Ultimately, I may have to call BMW of NA myself. If they give me a hard time about it, this will be my last BMW. My e90 is the third I've owned.

Needless to say, I'm pretty upset and I have a long trip coming up at the end of the month.

That is ridiculous. Maybe you can tell BMWNA the disc is defective and they will get you a new one. Then again, it should never have come to this. Your dealer should give you a new one since you did buy the car this year.

In my situation, my car was shipped from VPC with the wrong navi DVD, it was the correct year, but apparently the wrong version for E90. My dealer took care of that and gave me the correct DVD. If following your dealer's response, then technically I should call BMWNA for a new one or pay $200 for the correct one. That's a crock of BS. Hope you can resolve this issue, let us know how things progress.

Update:

My salesman gave up trying to get the new DVD through normal channels and just pulled one out of a new car on the lot.

So, I'm happy now.

With my previous disk I was looking around at local restaurants and they listed a number of places that were no longer in business. The new disk has cut all those and added all the new restaurants that are in the area.

FYI...I just got back from ED and used 2005.1 in the E90 and it works perfectly.

Smile DVD Version Europe road map

The latest version of the DVD Europe road map it's 2006-1
The difference to the 2005-1/2 ( except that you need the new software update) it is some new added countries.
The cost goes up to 175€ (eBay) but you should get it free from your BMW dealer!!!

Has anyone tried using UK postcode entry with the 2006-2 disc?

Has Navteq removed postcode entry of destinations, where the town/city would normally be entered?

Cheers.
