F8x Exhaust Tail Pipe Condition – Another OCD or Leave Em’ Sooty
No doubts the OCD is real and causes me to equate a car’s overall condition with an aesthetic observation of the car. I pretty much throw out the whole scientific method out the window to determine the real condition. If I see the exhaust of a car, like an F80, looking less than stellar I think the car is not as good. I get it sometimes a dirty car is a used car, as opposed to a garage queen and I know dirty tail pipes do not mean the car is in bad shape or is not taken care of mechanically. So far, I have about 14.5k miles on my F80 LCI I, and the sun was glistening off of the exhaust this morning as I rolled REDRIDE1 out to get to work. When I saw the tips reflecting the Sun, I thought “that looks damn good”.
What condition do you keep your Exhaust Tail Pipes in, and how do they look at your current mileage?

Definitely clean. Too me this small detail makes the car look new. With the black tips on my CP F80 it's less noticeable, but it really makes a difference on my M coupe and M5.
