It's started - first mods M4 Coupe
Picked up my 2016 SSII M4 Coupe at Christmas and started with a few subtle mods. I painted the rear reflectors as I thought the IND ones were overpriced, bad idea as the fit now they're painted isn't great so have ordered the horizontal inserts anyway, waste of time! Dealer fitted the full carbon M Performance kit for me, which makes all the difference - I added the rear carbon inserts each side of the diffuser, eBay special but quality is fit is 100%! I couldn't face $2000 for LCI tail lights plus all the messing around so had the standard ones tinted and installed LED bulbs all round, I'm really happy with the subtle change. Booked in Friday for Eibach Pro-Kit and spacers, the gap on the standard M cars is horrendous. Rear view shot today.

I have heard of them but never used them. There are so many out there these days. I don't know if I'll remap, I have a 2016 M5 which is running 600hp so I'll just take that out if I need something faster

Had the Eibach Pro-Kit fitted with spacers 15mm in the rear and 12mm up front. I'm not overly happy about the drop but I hope it will settle a bit more, especially at the rear.

Do you have any before and after pictures of the drop? What's the part number for the Eibach kit? Did you expect a much lower drop front and rear?

I have a shot from before I’ll dig it out. The front is perfect but the rear is just too high, only needs to come down 10mm. I knew these were subtle but H&R is too much and I only wanted to close the gap slightly over the awful stock height. The spacers made a big difference. Eibach confirmed earlier the rear isn’t right so I think it’ll have to go back in to the shop again, which is a pain.

Turns out the install wasn't done properly on the Eibach springs and they tensioned everything whilst it was in the air meaning the back sat too high. All sorted now, the ride is great and I'm happy with the moderate stance.
I also added carbon on the upper parts of the front bumper to match the M performance kit - eBay special but the fit and finish is perfect and makes the front of the car IMO. Wheels next |
