H&R Springs and 20" Verde Wheels FIXED!
Update: Job completed ..any suggestions should I black out chrome?
anything else? The ride quality of the Nankangs for me is what I expected for the price, a little bit of road noise but they ride smooth and I am happy with them. hopefully the springs will settle a little more. as far as the springs, the ride is slightly "tighter" and I can feel the difference with the handling and overall ride. Of course the wheels and tires come into play here as well. HR's took a total of 3.5 hours to install and I will try to do a write up later if I have time. So I have a 2014 528i Callisto Grey(B64) or as my wife calls it "poop Green" and I am going to do some upgrades.. will post pics in 2 weeks 20x9 Offset 35 front with 245/35/20 Nankan NS 20 20x10.5 Offset 42 rear with 285/30/20 Nankang NS 20 Edit:Added pic of the wheels I ordered H&R lowering Springs Chrome delete around window trim any suggestions or ideas welcome the e90 is my sons car in the pic. Do you have Adaptive Suspension?
If you do...I recall seeing a pretty good buy for H&Rs w/Adaptive Suspension from a fellow forum member on here. Haven't seen it come up recently, but I know I saw it like a month ago. Might be worth a look see. |

Just fyi. Eventually, the shocks will go because the factory set up is not rated for the H&R springs. My personal opinion is to do coilovers. Therefore, when it occurred you don't have to go back and switch it up again. But if you're on a budget it is not a bad option. Good luck!

FYI
I installed the right front spring on my lunch and it took me about 45 minutes to do. I will do the rest after work today.. I work at a dealer and have access to air tools and spring compressor. by no means am i a technician..

Wow! That turned out pretty damn SWEET! The color combo works well. Too bad you can't drop the front another inch but the rears sit perfect.
Now just to shadowtrim the windows and side marker and black Double Slat grills

Hey got 2 questions for you:
What brand wheels are those? Which model H&R springs did you get?

Wheels and offsets look good, no poking out in the rear. The springs don't look like they did much you still have a huge gap up front, hopefully they settle. Did you measure the ride heights front and back before and after the installation as instructed by H&R per the install sheet?

install sheet?? I did not measure the height since I was going from 17" factory wheels to a 20" I did not think it would make sense.. yes I am hoping the front "settles" because it is a big gap. I will post pics in a couple of weeks to see if there is a difference. Is there really anything that would cause the ride height to stay the same or not lower at all?, the spring are significantly shorter than the OE and everything was aligned properly (springs are seated correctly on top and bottom) at installation.

I think tomorrow I will take apart the front to make sure all is correct. I remember now that when I put the front struts back in I had to turn(twist) them to align the link bolt hole properly and cant help thinking that the spring may have twisted up on the insulators.. but hopefully it is just a "settling" issue.

Yea i know .. luckily I have technicians at my disposal
although I did the springs on my own .. I don't mess with the alignment machine I'm just going to take the wheels off and see if the springs are seated properly.
