Difference - i-Pod factory or dealer installed
Anybody know all the differences between the adaptors installed to connect i-Pod through i-Drive, the differences between the connection installed by the factory and the one installed by dealers?

Factory = 6FL Has USB Port, and connects through the center arm rest. Dealer Mimics a CD Drive. Cannot have 6CD played with this option. Typically connects through the storage bin |

There are a metric shitload of threads on this already. No, they're not both USB. the dealer installed adapter is the same dealer installed adapter that's been available for years. It's a dock connector on a cable in the glove box.
