Heat Soak
Just a fyi for you that are tracking the car -My last track day it was hot (91) and humid (74) I can tell these cars really do not like those conditions at all - you can lose up to 1/2 sec and 4 mph - They are in need of a much bigger intercooler for sure.

That, and the stock charge pipe were the first mods I did on the n55 because of the same reason.
How is the charge pipe on the b58? |

What were your IAT’s? I know my car turns into a pig when they’re up around 130, which is where they tend to hover after sitting and waiting to line up.

My experiencew is the cooling systems-engine and intercooler-are well engineered. I've done track time at Virginia International Raceway and Summit Point. The oil temperature never got above the normal, on the road reading. The car was strong from session start to session end. And, I pushed him (his name is "Gerhardt") as hard as I could. Hit 135 in 4th gear (manual, natch) on the main straight at VIR and 130mph at SP.

I can say that is not true in 1/4 mile racing - and not just my BMW - we made back to back runs on a warm and humid day, with the exact same 60ft time and the ET was down 3 tenths and the mph off 2 mph - In addition it is a known fact that turbo cars perform much better in cold air and low humidity.
