Ask a BMW CA Thread:

Hello all! I am making this post as a go to post for general questions (US cars only), helping locate cars etc. I will not be posting program as GOLFFRR already does that.

Ask away and I will do my best to answer.

Any idea why off-road package or 2 axle air suspension can’t be ordered with M Sport package?

Would be good to know, as I would be willing to at least get the air suspension but have no need for the 3rd row.

Another question for you to ask about NH_F36, if you can, is the availability of the Panoramic Sky Lounge or Ambient Air options. From reading the forums of other models (G30), the CA's are able to request the Ambient Air for the customer through their Regional/State rep and sometimes are able to get it added, was hoping this might be the case with these options for the G05.

Can you also confirm if the 2nd row seats slide and recline. This was a stand alone option (Comfort Rear Seats if I recall correctly) on the F15 but I see no mention of it for the new G05. Very useful feature when you need it.

This would be VERY important if available. Unfortunately, from the videos I've seen of the interior, it wouldn't look like adjustable seats could be added.

But I want more 2nd row legroom!

Just so you know, on the F15, adding the Comfort Rear Seats didn't allow you have MORE rear legroom. With the seat slid all the way back, it was the same leg room as the non-sliding seat. What you could do was recline the seat back, which made the seat more comfortable for passengers and also gave them more headroom. It also makes it feel like there is more leg room due to the slightly different seating angle. The seat itself had different padding/cushions as well and is a more comfortable seat than the base one.

The real advantage for me was that when putting an infant or rear-facing car seat into the car, the extra recline allowed by the comfort seat back basically lets you install the car seat further back, which in turn allows for more front seat leg room. I'm 6'2" with long legs, so this was really helpful for me.

Also, when needed, you can slide the 2nd row seat forward (it is easily a good 4 inches), which increases the size of the cargo area. I've used this on a few occasions too.

Still, I want the sliding/reclining 2nd row seat in the new G05. I really hope it is now a standard feature, as many of the X5's competition has this as a standard now.

Can you clarify where the wireless charging pad is located in the g05.

Is the charging pad in the center console or easy to access while driving —-

G01 - located in front of cup holders . Easy to reach ( I own this car)
G30 loaner- in front of the shifter kinda hard to reach cell phone .

Those will be exclusive to X7.

Good question, don't have the answer. But you'll for sure get 2nd row reclining/sliding seats if you opt for 3rd row. I realize you may not need or want 3rd row, but that would include the 2nd row seats you want.

Still, it would seem strange they'd offer that on the F15 but not the G05...

Another reason to wait for M50i. Thanks!

Next question: Will DHP be compatible with Off Road package?

Couple of questions - I have my allocation and am putting the order together.

I see ZLC Leather Credit -$1450 and ZOC Option Credit $-190 both with EOP of 11/18. Does that mean I can get those credits if I order leather?

For the air suspension, is it capable of adjusting to different ride comforts or only for raising/lowering the X5? Since DHP is gone from the 40i, I'd still like to have something to change the ride in frost heave Minnesota.

Thanks! Very close to having my order done. Options galore, different than the F15 was were it seemed there were better packages.

In Europe, it can be added with M Pack but only on M50d. On 3.0d, its not possible.
Just asked dealer if it can ne added also in 3.0d.

Maybe M50i is what they are waiting for in the US. Kinda BS that the launch photos clearly show M-sport and Off Road package.

Pretty sure that the air suspension only raises/lowers the right height of the vehicle (see the shots of it dropping .8 inch in "sport" mode, or raising an extra .8 inch from stock in "off road" mode) and will inflate the rear if you have a heavy load in the back to keep the vehicle level.

The dynamic dampers (F15 had 3 different shock settings, not sure if that will continue to the G05) are what actually determine the relative softness/firmness of the ride. I believe those are standard now on all models.

only .8 inches of extra height in off road mode? The LR4 adds like 3 inches I think, they need to revise that.

Being that I could care less about how much height the "off road" mode would actually add (really, who takes one of these off-roading????) I glossed right over the details. All I cared about was that the sport mode lowered the truck by .8" from the "stock" height.

Here's the official numbers: looks like there is a 2.4inch total range of adjustment from lowest to highest in driving modes, though that could be 3.2 inches total range including the "loading mode"
Lowers automatically by .8 inches in sport mode
Raises up to 1.6 inches above standard setting
Button in cargo area lowers by 1.6 inches for 'loading" mode
Last mode (height) remembered upon engine restart
Can adjust height with engine off

Hello
i placed an order monday but after looking more closely i want the more current driver asistance package so will be giving up that spot and waiting a bit. The one question i have is i am looking at alpine white with black interior. I believe its the extended merlino. The headliner is called anthrocite and my rep was unsure of the color. When we order our q7 they almost built a gray headliner. I would like black alcantera or at least a black headliner and black A and b pillars.
do you know the color of the anthracite?
