There's very few cars from Mercedes I like over what BMW has to offer, but I must say, for the intent of this segment.. I think I'd rather have the S class coupe. Am I the only one?

I can kind of agree but I am referring to the AMG GTR over the 8 series. The S class coupe doesn't nothing for me. AMG GTR > 8 series > S class coupe for me.

Lol I'm in the exact same boat. I despise grey, what a terribly depressing color. Plus, why spend all that money just to have your car blend in with all its surroundings? Black and white are subtle colors too and are far more handsome.

The only shades that are remotely tolerable to me are Nardo and Fashion Grey. Even then they'd be my last choice.

Wheels don't look good with the black inner part, looks too flat.

Definitely prefer the brighter version:

S Class coupe is a little too derivative compared with the Sedan this time around, but a gorgeous interior and very classy car.

This new 8 just looks so... pedestrian compared to the concept version and a little boring even.

I know it's the slowest but I don't care - Give me the Lexus LC over both.

I've driven the S63 coupe a number of times and I truly hate it. It feels like it's 10,000lbs. Great if you're into comfortable cruising but awful in any kind of turns and it honestly doesn't feel as quick as it is. I have almost zero doubt that the 8 will be much more fun to drive and I also think the S63 coupe looks like a boring slab.

Looks are subjective. But this is kind of my point. Given the relatively close curb weight, wheelbase, and power figures actually favoring the S63, I guess I don't see that dramatic of a difference in driving experience. Obviously there's more to driving dynamics than that, but we shall see. Exterior/Interior beauty is relative to the individual, but for a large, comfortable, luxurious land yacht/GT cruiser- the SCoupe would get my nod on both. Looking forward to all the driving reviews of the M850i, however.

I just don't get this ridiculous tiny rear spoiler sitting on top of the overemphasized trunk edge.

There is lots to like on the car but the trunk/rear design just not looking right. The whole rear just looks deformed.

At first I thought this was a compliment. Then I realized that people take dull to be a negative word. Odd.
