M2 Competition on 2.9% finance!

Just been looking at BMW.co.uk and saw that the new M2 Comp is on 2.9%.

Obviously its based on the std car but here is the quote that comes up without me altering anything.

Dipper - £7767
48 x £499
Final payment £22284
Car price £49805
Total price £53504

Based on 10k miles and standard car with no option packs added. Obviously the more you add the more it will cost per month.

I think us chaps with the new LCI M2s will be ok in the long run and end up with some change at the end of the PCP!

I am actually pleased I cancelled the M2 Comp order I had, loads of people saying the current M2 is better.

Thoughts?

I think you should wait until someone has driven it before making wild guesses about whether its better or not than the original M2.

If you are happy with your current one then you shouldn’t really give a hoot.

FWIW my GFV was £3k higher than that (manual, M2 Plus, 8k miles) and they will honour the monthly we agreed.

I keep having a think about this, but still think I’m financially better off in the last of the lci models. I definitely couldn’t use that extra HP on the road either, even at run in, I’m wondering whether I’ll ever need to go over 5500 rpm anyways. Although I’m sure I’ll find a way!

Still, I love silver cars and a hockenheim silver comp is playing on my mind. Even if I do find the new front kidney design all kinds of ugly and the silver is kinda vague unlike say Porsche GT silver.

I had a look at this earlier today and worked out I would have to pay an extra £13k to sell my M2 LCI and move to the M2C. Really can't justify that. I would much rather wait another 3.5 years and get the new-gen M2.

I feel BMW might find shifting M2c harder due to it being more track focused.
They might be back to us M2 guys on pcp to cut a deal in a years time!

How is it more track focused ? Its the same suspension as the OG M2, Same bushings, same diff, same wheel size combo etc. Only thing different on a handling/ride matter is the dsc programming.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there regarding the changes.

Essentially you have a s55, m4 seats, a new front bumper and some extra options. There is some extra weight in the m2c but I doubt it’s going to be noticeable.

I find the stock m2 lacks power for my needs and easily handles stage 2 power, 420/440bhp and 450/470lbft. The chassis handles this with ease and doesn’t require you to ring the cars neck on drives with the broader torque spread.

I've read around 150lbs, M5 brakes are nice upgrade tough..

I just put a deposit on a 2018 M2, I like the N55 better but I understand why the M2c exists.

On the track it is so relative to the driver anyways..

Not sure what you ended up doing but this is no more already. I put my deposit down today and I got 4.9% but it's 5.9% on the site already.

No need to live in Scotland for that. I ordered my last m6 from eastern bmw in Edinburgh, over 300 miles from home.

They even paid the (1st class) train fare and both taxis up to collect the car. Great day trip...

Peter Vardy quoted me for the M2C but refused to discount the car at all. So i got it from Cooper York instead. Still 2.9% apr but 4% discount too.

A day trip to york coming up...

My bad I suppose. I tried to haggle with them but not knowing how the UK market works I ended up getting what I was given. Now in hindsight I realise UK us not different from everywhere else. Well I guess I'll keep that in mind for the next car. Thanks for the tips by the way.

@_debo - Carwow or coast2coast is actually pretty good to get an idea of any discounts, I was getting quoted 4% a number of weeks back. Not sure if this was due to the end of Q3 and trying to get sales.
No offer of 1st class train tickets though! You must have the gift of the gab doughboy

Agree i used carwow and auto ebid to get 10 dealers quoting and tried my 2 local dealers direct.

So 12 altogether. Only 3 offered any discount at all. Max offer was 1% i think so i pursued them and got 4% in the end.

Well one offered 5%, but delivery was June 2019!

Lots of great contract hire offers but all DCT... No good for me.

...re the train tickets i think they were just glad to shift an M6 GC... (actually it was up to £150 travel expenses, which paid for an advance off peak 1st class train to Edinburgh and the taxi's at both ends..)

Eastern BMW in Edinburgh..

But now Q4 contract hire deals are even better, I think BMW must have missed Q3 targets on DCT M2C sales and are how palming build slots off through 3rd party lease firms...

Bargain if you want DCT, but not for me, the fact BMW are only pushing DCT models means they must be not shifting enough of them? They are now over £100/m less than from BMW last month.

£388/m on a 9+23 6k pa.

In my case I think I wasn't strong enough, I just wanted the car and didn't negotiate, so it's mostly my fault. However the dealership was quite blunt in saying that they won't discount that car too much anyway because people will buy it regardless. Anyway no need to cry over spilled milk right?

Went along to my local BMW Dealer...

M2C sat there, I have to say in the silver it looks pretty disappointing (sorry to those who bought it) it looses all the lines like the Alpine white does.

Don't like the wheels and seats were ok. Suppose it's the engine but for me I'm happy with the std M2 I bought 4 months ago.

Thanks for pics.

Silver is a funny colour light wise. I'm just hoping for a less onerous cleaning regime than my current san marino blue...
