07 and 08 Ipod playlist difference

I dont know if this has been mentioned before or not, but there are a couple of improvements i found on my gf's 08 E90 335 with 6FL

On my 07 E92 335, the ipod playlist will not stay with your previous playlist after i start the car (e.g. it will always be on "now playing" instead of Artist> or previous playlist). It is annoying coz I couldnt view the song list and scroll down the list of songs. However, on my gf's 08, this was corrected. It will remain on the same playlist or under the same artist after you restart the car.

now my question is, can this be fixed on my 07 by a flash or any other method?

I'm not so sure ... I have a 08 M3 manufactured in April with 6FL, and it will revert to this odd "now playing" playlist with a single track in it, if it had previously being playing a playlist.

Seems to be a bug to me.

I've been having this issue in my E92 335i. When I first picked it up last week, every time I started the car the iPod would resume properly, showing the list of tracks on the album that was currently playing. Now it just shows the track currently playing with 'Playlists > Now Playing' showing at the top.

It seems to have started since I unplugged the iPod to add more tracks then plugged it back in again. Would the new style ipod cable help?

Leona, you should have asked me first!

All the 6fl issues are fixed with progman 29.2 or up (your girlfriends car is new so obviously it will have latest programming). But just remember that progman 29.2 is the one that has the tune detection as well as the extra throttle lag which makes it feel like less torque down low. I hate the jumping back to "now playing" BS too but i love the way my car drives and i dont want to deal with 29.2 and its problems.

Isn't there a newer version than 29.2 now that solves the lag problems?

ha, the law delivers again. Not a surprise but thanks for the confirmation. But i guess this doesnt really explain jhbodle's case tho? US and EURO model differences? Plus the M3..

progman 29.2 also fixes the super slow scrolling. So if you just spin the idrive knob, it will go all the way down instead of just moving 4...5 songs down.

Well although I personally have owned my 335i for a week, it was built in September 2007, so it must have an older progman version on it. I'm gonna see if I can get the latest version put on it...

I would imagine I would have 29.2 since my M3 was built in April 08? The scrolling is super fast with the ipod. However, i still have the weird now playing issue described above.
