Wife's 2016 528i lease is up in ~6 months and she decided she wanted the new X5 after I showed her all the photos and videos that were released. Went in today to see our advisor and the very first X5 40i they had an allocation for wasn't actually a sold order yet! So he moved it into our name and we will end up with the very first X5 delivered to the dealership (hopefully that isn't a bad thing!). Build week is tentatively 36 at this point. So will probably be an October delivery. I managed to talk her into the M Sport...

Very excited! Going to be a HUGE step up from her relatively base level Luxury Line 528i. I know there is no DHP option for the 40i, while I would have liked it...this is her car, and she loved the ride of the 528i. So I know she will love the X5 even without DHP.

Sweet getting their first allocation, and nice build, but may I add one suggestion (of course, this is a forum and everyone has an opinion Haha!)...

I'm assuming your wife prefers the cognac leather color, but you could actually save $200, and still get extended merino leather (much much nicer leather than vernasca) which comes with the leather dash, since you are ordering the M pack (unfortunately cognac doesn't come in merino). IMHO, tartufo is a nicer brown than cognac, as cognac can appear too orange. But you most likely considered all of this, and your wife just prefers the cognac color. Either way, can't wait to see one of the first deliveries!!

Are you sure you are getting ZDY? Order guides say not available until December. You might end up with ZDB instead.

Good suggestion! Makes sense! I sent an email over to our advisor to make the change to Tartufo Merino leather...might as well save $200 and get nicer leather! We hadn't even really looked into the Merino colors previously, we didn't want to pay what we thought was another $2.5k for it.

Yep! You are correct, that was a cut and paste from a spreadsheet I made. It will indeed be the ZDB package.

I'm looking at the order/pricing guide and trying to understand this. Can you explain?

If you are ordering M Sport, extended leather is only $1k (which includes the leather dash). Leather dash as a stand alone is $1200

No, ZMP does not include leather dash, but if you order ZMP, for only $1k more you can opt for the Extended Merino Leather which includes the leather dash.

I checked on a 3 yr. lease on an X5 40i and the residual is 56% which is low. Maybe it will go up when the 2018 inventory is gone and the new model is out for a few months but for now they're asking top dollar. Think the money factor is pretty high too.
I'm going to wait until it's been out for a few months.

I got a call today from BMW notifying me our 2016 BMW X5 MSport that the Lease is up at the end of September. I asked our dealership for details on the G05 and they had none. They made me put down $1K on the G05 and they would extend the lease. I'm thinking to stretch this thing out to Jan / Feb or as long as I can. Hopefully that residual will improve.

Where did you find this information? You sure that isn't for the 2018 X5? Hard to believe that residual and lease rates are available for a car that isn't even in production yet or on the BMW USA site to configure. They generally change month to month...and since the first deliveries won't be until September/October most likely, why are they publishing that info now? My dealer doesn't yet have any lease information on the car.

My dealer just got the info. this week along with the pricing/order guides, yes for the 2019 X5.
The web site won't change until 2018 inventory is sold and the 2019 is in production.
You can extend your present lease up to 12 months and end it early without penalty if you lease another BMW which is what I did a few months ago so I have until next May to take delivery. Hopefully the numbers will improve.

Was your order accepted? My CA tried two days ago to submit my order for a similarly well equipped 4.0xDrive, but he repeatedly received error codes from BMW’s order management system. Per his zone rep, updates are being applied to resolve the issue. Looking for a Week 40 build ...

My CA also ran into errors changing the build. He submitted to his rep for assistance. Looks like the order system has some glitches! He is hoping to hear back soon. The order as the dealer placed it originally was in there and accepted, he was trying to change it to our spec. Our name is on it though and its marked a sold order. Status code 112.

Maybe there is still hope that changes are being made to the order guides??? Like adding DHP to the 40i, finger's crossed!!!

The errors my dealer received had to do with seating (ordering Luxury Seating Package along with M Sport Package) and tires (specified 20" rims standard with M Sport, plus space saver spare for use in winter with non-RF snow tires). Overall spec complied with order guidelines, but ordering system was generating errors nonetheless. Hopefully overnight fixes will do the trick!

Order placed! Removed ZLS and 300 (suspected reasons for error codes last week), and order was accepted. Added those options (one at a time), and order changes were also accepted.
