protective film or ceramic treatment? both?

what do you guys recommend to apply to my brand new F90?
some claim that the ceramic treatment is the ultimate in paint protection, and you say?

PPF and ceramic coating used together will obviously provide the maximum amount of protection. Its all preference, but I would recommend doing both.

ceramic coat does not prevent rock chips. Go for PPF if you have to choose one.

What price range would you expect to do a full PPF install with one of the leading suppliers (XPEL, Suntek, 3M)?

On my M2, here in Los Angeles, I was quoted from $4,500-6,000.

I ended up doing PPF on the entire front (bumper, hood, front fenders), both doors, below door handles and flat area right below trunk, where people will put suitcases before loading them into the trunk. My installer also wrapped both side mirrors and the headlights.

Cost about half as much as the entire car. Keep in mind, the M2 is a substantially smaller car, and I don't know how prices are in Texas.

I think doing the entire car is overkill, but if you have the money....

Not bad considering it's the whole vehicle.

If you wrap the whole car, would you still need ceramic coating?

I went with S-tek. My guy does all 3 and he said that S-tek will do better in the longer term in my climate (fl). I also had a ceramic coat done as well because the combo is awesome for longevity . I had the front fascia, whole front quarters and the whole hood and Ceramic coat for $4600.00 . I thought that was a good package price, and the quality of install was impeccable. I have hand washed this car twice now and it is soooooo easy.

I was quoted $5,600 but only elected the ceramic @ $1,500 since it's a lease.

I hear that your not supposed to wax over the ceramic, will leave a film?
What about waxing over a wrap? My Masi has a wrap.

I received several different quotes from San Diego County installers for a full car wrap with Xpel Ultimate: $7,100, $6,900, $5,800, $5,600. Two of the installers with discount the price by 10% ($7,100 and $5,800) because I am a member of the BMWCCA.

Full front end is ranging from: $1,675 to $2,250.

Since I did a purchase of the M5 I am considering having the entire vehicle wrapped. I traded a 2015 M3 for the M5, I had Xpel Ultimate installed for the front end of the vehicle.

The manager gave me $1,500 more for my trade because the car was extra clean and he made reference to the front end being free of rock chips.

I got a full wrap, Xpel, for $5500 in San Jose.
Very easy to clean and I can already see a couple of rock dings in the wrap that didn’t make it through to the paint, so it does work.

Thought the XPEL wrap was “self-healing”...?

It is, but I guess there is a limit to how much it can heal.
