A little help with the Logic 7 System

Hey guys .... I found this post which I found really helpful

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...77&postcount=3

but im still confused on a couple of things.

First of here is what I want to do to my car so you guys can help me along ...

I want to replace the stock 8s that are under my front seats with some new ones like the SWS8s. 2nd I want to add 1 12" Sub in the trunk in a simple single box and a new amp to power all 3 new speakers.

Now here are my questions:

1) Everyone uses the SWS 8s however while looking through crutchfield I came across this Kicker CompVT ... would these work?

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...vt&i=2068C8VT4

only reason i ask is I would like to keep all the same components.

2) How is everyone installing the 2nd amp? Are you all using a line converter? (you know one of those things that are like $50-$90 that tap a speaker line?)

I was thinking of going this wrought:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...50&i=136441DSP

or this one:

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...0&i=5753SIXTY2

any thoughts or opinions? I have used basic line converters in the past and they gave pretty crappy sound IMO, plus these look like you can use the factory EQ and stuff (maybe Im wrong).

3) When upgrading the factory sub amp is is dumb to use the factory wiring? Is there a direct replacement? Like for example (plug and play for the amp and the stock subs?)

Thanks for any help any one can give me

Don't worry about the speakers all being the same. The only reason the SWS are used is THEY ARE ALL THAT FIT!

OEM wiring is OK.

Read more posts on interface. If you have Logic 7 you need some sort of OEM interface.

My $0.02

1-Everyone uses the SWS-8s because they are low profile woofers they're the only known direct replacement for the stock woofers, The Kickers Comp V would never fit

2- The Clean Sweep and 3Sixty are signal processor and would be IMHO overkill if you're only installing subs , A good LOC will do the job perfectly and you will not see any difference

3- Not sure what you mean, but if you're wondering if there is a direct connection replacement the answer would be no, the signal from the radio to the amp is digital and cannot be tapped in, you have no choice but to take the output from the OEM amp

hope this helps

Such a processor is overkill if he is only doing subs, but I thought he was doing the whole thing because of the last question

Planning on doing subs and amp and additional sub in the rear, then maybe later adding in doors. I wanted to do something really clean for shows.
