So today, heading over to York, I'm on a road that's just been resurfaced and Im driving at 22mph (set speed limiter), everyone else is driving slow and I've left enough room in front on the M to avoid chips from the guy in front, next minute some prick decided to over take me, through all the stones in the middle of the road, road rashing the front bumper, windscreen and front wing, how the bonnet was missed is beyond me!
I decided to slam on the brakes and try limit the potential damage by the stones which I think worked! I'm so fucking pi**ed off! Luckily they are light chips and a bit of heat with a polisher will pull the sides together and hide the marks. The chips on the screen however... I cannot believe just how mindless he was and for what reason to get in front of me for 17 miles! If I had of known it was resurfaced I would have avoided it like the plague! RANT OVER! |

I know the feeling dude.
On collection day, I took the a47 to collect but wanted to take the more scenic route back. Little did I realise that 10miles into the journey they were resurfacing or top dressing as they like to call it for the best part of 4 miles. I was gutted as the car was so new and every car coming towards me flicking stones up made me wince |

This is why you're supposed to PFF at least the front part of your car after you take delivery. It's a really nice feeling to get sprayed with gravel and then remember you have a clear bra. It's saved my hood and bumper more times than I can count. As for the windshield, that's pretty much unavoidable. They make clear bras for them but they only last 6 months and cost $500 so they're not worth while on our cars. Fix the damage and then wrap the hood bumper and headlights in expel or suntek. It will pretty much guarantee that this experience never happens to you again.

Yes it made me so angry largely because there was no need to overtake like that, complete brain dead move. The car would have been fine other wise. As for the PPF, Im looking in to that. My issue is I love polishing the car and making it look nice and the PPF takes away all of that.... a decision needs to be made. |

12,000 miles in mine and it's absolutely battered. It shows the cars been used. Not a garage queen!!

Funny that it's the 'it's just a car' attitude that causes this in the first place. I know you can't avoid getting stone chips etc, but a flagrant disregard for the consequences of your actions is inexcusable in my eyes. To me it would be glaringly obvious that driving like a tool on such a surface would result in damage to not only my own car, but potentially others. I'm not sure why anybody would think the same, but then again, 'it's just a car' isn't it?
