I am seriously thinking of trading in my Mercedes GLC 43 AMG for a pre-reg M2. The GLC is just not too expensive to run as a family car so it never really gets used. We have another family car so no problems in using that .
The GLC interior trim build quality is just shocking with constant creaks and rattles evident from new.
I've only had it 7 months 3000 miles but looks like I can just about get out of the deal at no cost (negative equity).
My question is, I will have to use the M2 to do a 20 mile per day run to work and back (so my daily driver) and then a bit of weekend driving. My concern is will the M2 be comfortable enough and what is the interior build quality like?
I can't go through another 7 months + of a creaking interior!

I’ve been in mine just over a month now and it’s very well screwed together. A firm ride but never do the bumps or road surface make so much as a creak inside.
Cold start up is a little bit antisocial if you’re setting off early. Sounds lovely but really does gurgle for 30secs or so.
I’m over the moon with it and it is regularly used as a family car with two teens fitting very comfortably in the back.
I’ve had some quite interesting cars in the past but I’m shocked at the positive attention the m2 gets, some guys nearly walk into lamp posts!

I love mine! I don't do mega mileage and the daily commute will be fun if you buy the M2.

I also think the Merc A is crap build quality. My bro had an A45 and that nab screen was like an after thought.

Build on the M2 - door close sounds a bit tinny, bonnet missing a bit of a strengthening bar at the top as you can push the top in and out but in all honesty I'm being picky!

In short go and buy the M2!

After being offered a few pre reg delivery mileage cars that were built late 2017 / very early 2018 I've managed to find a May built unregistered car not much more. Deal done today with collection hopefully next Saturday.
Can't remember the full spec but it's Alpine white, DCT, adaptive LED lights, m performance seat belts, HK stereo, heated seats, pro nav reversing camera , privacy glass etc. Not sure if it has full black panel display or not. Really looking forward to get back into a BMW.

I would say you’ve done well to find an unregistered one, I thought deslers were desperate to get them registered before orders officially opened on the comp.
I never saw myself justifying getting an M car until these recent M2 deals were too good to refuse.

Thanks, it took a few days of phoning round dealers. It surprising how some dealers can't do enough to win your business whilst others just aren't bothered.

Know exactly what you mean. I think the same salesman can be a different person depending on how close they are to a target. I had something like 13 missed calls and a stream of emails from my M2 dealer in less than a day when he thought another dealer was closing in. But he was pushing for being top salesman award of some sort for the end of Q2.
When do you pick yours up?

I’m still running in at the moment, over 700 Miles now so I am giving it quite a bit of stick up to the 5.5k Rev limit. You can tell it’s just coming on song as the self imposed limiter kicks in, looking forward to taking it all the way round.

I’m sure you’ll love it, just prepare yourself for all the admiring glances 😎

The mileage I do it will take a few months to run in, I'm a big believer in running cars in properly so it should be less painful!
Been reading loads of reviews on the M2 and how nice the engine sounds compared to the M3 and M4 engine which is in the new M2C. I think for anyone (like me) who wants to keep the car standard the outgoing M2 is the one to go for. I've done mine on a 36 month PCP and an M2C same spec is £200 a month more.
Obviously if your chasing ultimate BHP the M2C has far greater potential.

I’ve been burned by tuning cars in the past, now I work on the philosophy that if you want a fast car, buy one that’s fast from the factory 👍
