Is what I am trying to do possible?

Can I switch the siren from my alarm kit (2008 E92), to the siren found here (the wolf whistle model)?

I am not mechanically inclined at all, so I have no idea. Any help is very appreciated!

According to the install instructions I've read, the siren for the E9x includes a backup battery and a tilt sensor (which makes it Thatcham-certifiable in the UK, I would imagine). So it's not just a siren and I wouldn't mess with it myself.

Me, if I wanted to change it, I'd crack my siren open and mod it, running the speaker wires out to my new siren - but if you are not the mechanical type, maybe not.

Thanks for the reply. But are you saying that I will just lose the tilt sensor and backup batter functionality, or is it just not possible to switch them? I don't really care about losing those features, it is worth it to me to get the wolf whistle sound.

The siren module in your BMW alarm is more than a siren. You can replace the siren in your siren module with a different one, but if you get rid of the BMW siren module then there's nothing to connect a new siren to.

You can't just replace an E90 module with an E46 module.

edit: or E39 module, as it were.

Appreciate the help. How do I replace the siren itself rather than the module? Also, what is the reason I can't swap the modules (I'm just trying to educate myself).
