840d Ordered

Ordered 2 weeks ago and due around Feb 2019. Added everything except carbon and night vision. Dravit grey and red/black leather. Never seen one other than internet, but it'll be fine! Fall in, instead of step-up to my X6.

The 840d is by far the "sensible" choice if you are in Europe to avoid the relative tax legislation aiming right for you with the M850i.
With the 840d you still get the best of both worlds in regards to performance and efficiency. Choosing the sensible choice means you do not overlook the precise character of The 8 in the 840d. Not completely a blunt instrument as the raw unadulterated M850i. But certainly capable with a relatively sporting drive many think have been missing from today's BMWs.

The 840d in Black Sapphire on show at the BMW Welt.

This time an M850d will be available?
I didn't understand for the previous 6 series why they offered only the middle 3l power engine, but for the 5 series the M550d was available...

I doubt it as the performance would be very close to the 850i and potentially take sales. Also as the production numbers are lower I suspect they will restrict the engine options? I have the 50d in my X6 and the performance of the 840d on paper is better, due to less weight and maybe some gearing changes.
