M-Sport
Outside of the obvious physical look, what differences will the US
M-Sport version have compared to X-Line? Specifically: Will the US M-Sport come with the same exhaust as the X-Line, or is it a true “M Sport”? And Will US M-Sport have a different suspension? Thanks, |

It is a fairly significant change in overall styling though. Lots of pieces are different!

But it's still a must-have IMO. X5's w/o it look pretty ordinary. |

Agree about M sport being mostly a style upgrade - but still something that tempts !
Also, the M-sport gives you access to a different set of colors. For instance, I love the Carbon Black metallic paint - it is high maintenance in the sense that you got to work at it to keep it clean and free of swirls, but boy does it look good ! Pity it is only available in the M-sport versions - quite a deliberate decision by BMW I am sure . OP: Also worth keeping in mind for the US versions (only) is that currently choosing M-sport will prevent you from getting the air-suspension & rear steering. This is expected to change for the future, but no specific timeline yet. Just FYI in case it is important for you. |

Having said that, 5900 is a lot for a purely appearance package.

The msport exhaust as per BMWUK.
The M Sport exhaust system delivers a sound that perfectly complements the vehicle's overall athleticism. The dynamic Sport and Sport+ driving modes are accentuated by a thrilling, even more distinctive sound while the comfort-oriented mode is accompanied by more discreet engine acoustics that better suit longer journeys and the serene driving experience. The different modes are controlled using the driving dynamics buttons. Only available with the M Sport Plus package.

Will probably be available through the dealer as an accessory at some point. BMW hasn't released any info on accessories for the G05 yet that I've seen. Hopefully those will come sometime in October/November after the official release.

When I purchased my 16 X5, the dealer installed the M Perf Exhaust. sounds amazing and can't bear to think not having it on my G05...waiting for now but hopefully it's a 2k add one down the line.

I'd go for the 40i and get an an aftermarket product (or BMW exhaust when it offered later as an accessory)
You can get a Glasspacks Cherry Bomb for under 30 bucks |
