What's a 33K mile 2018 M2 DCT worth?
Thinking about selling and buying M2C but not if my car has suffered too much depreciation
No track time and majority is highway mileage...I bought car new in December 2017! Basic bolt ons and car can be easily returned to stock: BM3, Wagner Performance 2 IC, VRSF catless DP, Air filter, Stoptech Sport pads. Zero issues, perfect. Cleve |

my guess
i would opine that you are better off returning the car to stock and selling the parts separately.
33k is a lot of miles for an '18. I would think private party you are in the 43k-45k range. dealer trade in value 38k-40k. |

I'm afraid you are not in a good position to sell it without taking a big hit. There are other LCI M2s on the market with significantly lower mileage. So potential buyers are either going for low mileage LCIs or higher mileage pre-LCIs where they are expecting significantly lower price (40k ish). Yours is stuck in between so I agree with JRF (prices without mods)

Thought these listings might boost your spirits! These are all 2017's... and yours is a 2018!
Seriously, I did a search on Autotrader, and these came up! Now, the first screen capture is of two cars heavily modified, but I don't know if the second screen capture, where they're asking in the high $50k's, is realistic or they're all dreaming! Of course, your car is higher miles, but some people will certainly prefer an M2 with higher miles, but with the newer instrumentation and other upgrades the LCI gives you. I'd figure to price your car basically the same as a low-medium milage 2017 M2. Hey, if you're not in a hurry, list it a little high and see how the response is. It'll take a while for a new M2C to be ordered and to arrive, anyways, so you do have time! (Personally, for what you're going to lose in the trade, I don't think the improvements of the M2C over the M2 is worth it, plus I love the sound of the N55 engine, but that's me. I can certainly see the appeal of upgrading!) |

From the looks of the dyno just posted up, a FBO M2 is on par with a stock M2c....if you need more then.that maybe a different type of car would suit your needs?
American cars put down big power at a fraction of the cost. If you want to take the hit then go for it! |

asking price vs.
listing price does not equate with sales price.
here's a good indicator of the current market: 11% of MSRP..... NEW '18..... for $54k. https://www.patrickbmw.com/new/BMW/2...4d69d7aaef.htm Two low mileage 2016's just sold on ebay for about $41k. The other cars out there are just sitting unsold. Same thing on Autotrader. Same thing on Craigslist. This 2016 has been sitting unsold for a month listed at $42,750. You think he won't take $41k? https://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/c...688112034.html |

There's a sub-forum here for car sales. I'd start there for a much more realistic valuation than what is being shown in the Auto Trader screenshot previously provided.

33,000 miles? That's almost 53,000 kms! Jesus, it's a great car...but how did you do it, lol? Circumference of the Earth = 40,075km.
I only have 6,500kms (4,000 miles) on my LCI so far... GLWS |

Cars are good for one thing, driving. I am happy to report I have 34,000 and 11 track days on my 2017. Plan on keeping it as a daily till about 90k and then converting it to a dedicated track car. I drove my E90 3 series until it had 225,000 miles. They run forever if you take good care of them and can afford or do your own repairs. My E90 was trouble free until 170,000 miles.

And wow...depreciation, like gravity, is a harsh mistress This is a great hobby but man this addiction is a real sickness to one's wallet. It will undoubtably be the end of me one way or the other. |
