Rear Seat Entertainment Yay or Nay?

It has now appeared on the UK configurator (which is not the most reliable at the moment) - £2,350 ish.

I have this on another car and it looks great/works well. But hard to justify when the rear seat USB + bracket is £150 then 2 android tablets are say £600. Has anyone got experience with the BMW system and can tell me it is life changing/worth the cash?

Thanks

Guess it depends on where you would be parking, would someone be likely to smash and grab the tablets? or would you want to hide after every journey? not used the system myself either but probably going to give it a go this time

I wouldn't do it. I got the travel seat back with ports. For kids the tablet holder is good and you can upgrade tablets for 5 years at that price.

I f I were sitting in the back I would get the table for a laptop. Or to put an iPad closer to me.

Thanks for the replies so far, does anyone have the system in another BMW? I leave them in the Porsche (probably stupidly) but have the rear blinds up so you cannot see them.

Get two ipad holders, connect them to the built in adapter. Buy two ipads and be happy.

Thanks guys for your input.

Cost benefit does not stack-up - get the brackets + USB for £200 ish then attach and remove whatever you like. I could get my head around £1k, maybe £1.5k but they are asking too much...

Have to agree with everyone else. Since personal portable entertainment devices have become more prolific, it just doesn't make sense anymore to pay for a system that is bolted into a vehicle, when you can buy devices that are more powerful, with more capabilities, easily updated and/or replaceable for a cost, that you can take with you out of the car, in the rest of your life.
