how do u compute for the offset?

i have a E90 with 18x8 front and 18x8.5 ellipsoid OEM rims, im wondering what are its offset? im planning to get vertini wheels 19x8.5 40mm front and 19x9.5 45mm rear, would it look wider if i put in my car? TIA

Take a look for your particular wheel here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=464 The ET number is the offset, plug that into the calculator along with the other numbers.

Off-hand though I can say that 40mm/45mm offsets, front/rear respectively will be pretty far tucked in.

Edit: Ok I just ran it through the calculator based on 34F/37R. The Vertini's will sit at exactly the same outer point at the front, while the rears will extend an extra 5mm. Most people will want a wider stance to better fill out the fenders though. I have 19x8.5 ET30 front and 19x9.5 ET30 rear and they sit very nicely, a little more conservative would be ET32 front, ET35 rear.
