So if I had a set of winter tires 275 40R20 and 315 35R20 would they not work on a set of 20" rims with the new bolt pattern and offset?

It's a pretty big difference for circumference.

So we're talking about the speedo not being in sync.

Question: If i were to go a small size up on the the winter tires, would it be a problem? What I mean is: instead of 275/40/21, what if i went 275/45/21? I understand there is an inch difference in size, and I'm not worried about the speedometer,I just wonder if it will rub or cause any mechanical problems.
Thoughts? |

They fit on the M brakes and with they are exact match to oem specs 740m tires us spec.
Enkei performance onx black 20 8.5 et 35 Blizzak dm v2 275/45/20 - close to oem diameter Square setup got them via tirerack ask for gill Front clears caliper with 1/2 inch to spare Rear clears with 3 inches spare X5 g05 Tightening torque is 101 lbs/140 Nm per manual Btw- once you are done with the install, go to idrive and change the tire setup from summer to winter and reset tpms. For the square setup i have bmw recommends 33 f / 41 r in the idrive. As per TR, If you are on brand new winters over inflate them for the first 300/500 miles by 5psi to help the bead set especially if the ambient temp is above freezing. Two questions. 1. Can you replace center cap with bmw one ? 2. Do you have email address for the sales guy who sold them to you ? I would like to deal with him directly if possible ? Thank you.

They are also running a rebate on the blizzaks if you order before the 3rd. Btw- if you go online to tr.com and choose vehicle 2018 540 the set shows up with the correct wheels bolt patten and et and tpms. |

I was told by my tire dealer 19" rims don't fit around the M calipers. If you don't have M calipers you should go with 19". Rims and tires are cheaper and better performance in snow. But if you don't care about cost then 21" would look better. |

There is limited choice of winters tires in 21, i believe pirelli scrotto zero is the one available easily in the us and you end up with 275/40/21 as tire size choice. Going to 20" gives you access to michelin x ice, bridgestone blizzaks, and yoko iceguards. So way more choices in addition to raising the sidewall to 45 as added benefit. Try getting a square setup as you will be able to rotate tires, and it also helps the under steer feeling. |

Niche Vosso Matte Black: 5x112mm 20x9in ET38 (For the Front 275/40R20) Niche Vosso Matte Black: 5x112mm 20x10.5in ET40(For the rear 315/35R20) The only problem is the center bore of the rim is 66.5mm, and the X5 G05 is 66.6mm (from one of links provided). I wonder if they would fit? Are those numbers suppose to be the same? maybe it was rounded it up, and hence the confusion? Other than that, the wheel for this set up is a little bit smaller in total diameter than the original 22 inch wheel (about 0.9 inch), I think it should be fine. |

That's what I asked them to do for my M235i with sport calipers. It's easy. They just Jack the car up and switch the wheels on the front and back, then spin them to make sure there's no contact. |

Type in your postal code http://www.nicheroadwheels.com/dealers.cfm There are many dealers in Richmond, Burnaby, Surrey etc. Or contact the customer service they might have a way of confirming they will fit before paying. Last edited by bizfiend; 12-03-2018 at 02:06 AM.. |

275/45/21 Front 315/40/21 Rear I can spend a lot less and have them for just the season before I return to the US. Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? |
