The G21 looks amazing in person, way more modern compared to the F31. Went to an event that had a G21 30i in a individual blue color and it was really fresh. Can’t wait until the M340i arrives.

Did you had the chance to take pictures of it? Tanzanite is a great color!

It guarantees you’ll talk about it, post pictures of it, mention it on social media. It works well .

This car will sell well at home and that’s all they really need. BMW has always had an “ehh” approach to selling waggons elsewhere; there’s little point, that’s what SUVs are for really.

Wagons are best fit for families that travel a lot on european authobahns. They outshine SUVs primarily in driving agility, high-speed performance and high-speed economy. SUVs are practical and spacious but their fuel consumption goes through the roof when you push them over 130kmh compared to wagons.

Wagons lose their edge over SUVs in countries where long distance high speed driving is impossible due to low speed limits or poor road infrastructure.

All this said, G21 looks promising. Can't wait to see it in March.

At The Swiss resort I am Currently visiting.
I am Seeing high-performance All-Wheel-Drive wagons as well as the ubiquitous SUV.
This time next year I imagine will be seeing the M340 Touring as well as the next Alpina B3. Have seen a lot of Alpinas and even Porsche Panamera e-hybrid Sport Turismo.
Seeing these with a ski rack makes me think of how the M3 and M5 Touring would fit well within this landscape.
That I would even consider skiing naked for the opportunity to have one or the other.

There are many Canadian ski resort which are in desperate need for M3 and M5 touring.

BMW is perfectly capable of selling it, but makes more money out of SUVs. In any case, what is the point of going through all that type approval expense just to sell the car literally to a few hundred enthusiasts?

Too bad the rear window will look like the old X3 rear window.

Can anyone comment on if/when the wagon will become available in the U.S.? I'm assuming we will have to make do with the 2.0 Turbo over here?

As has been reported here on BimmerPost as far back as two years ago and talked about extensively since, and as has been reported throughout the automotive press very recently, the G21 3 Series Touring is not coming to the US in any form, ever.
