Ambient lighting? Weak?
Any photo of g20 ambient lighting? It seems so weak on official photo. I really like E class and 5 series ambient lighting. New X5, 8, x7 all have better and more light strips.

It's intentionally gimped to make you remember it's only a 3-series. Just kind of abruptly cuts off in the middle console area.

In the 5 you can switch off the idrive monitor if you want.
Those of you who had SAABs in the past may remember the night panel button which switch off everything except the part of the speedometer that you needed lighting up others gauges only if necessary. |

I saw a newish Jag tonight, and when the guy got out I was blinded by his illuminated door trim - couldn't believe how bright it was! Must be RGB too, as he had it set to a lurid green colour that is no way the default choice..
Does anyone know if the doors on the G20 have the ambient light strip, same as the F30? |

I just saw a 9-5 last week and thought of that. BTW you can switch the interior lights off in every model that has them.

You can do that in the 3's and 4's too.
It's because it's ambient lighting, it's indirect. Could be a little brighter imo, but I certainly wouldn't want a fully exposed strip of neon that I see some other cars are getting now. |

It's exposed on the X5 and it's not distracting at all. It kinda gives the car a more airy futuristic look.
